Many rumors have been circulating about the possibility of new American Idol judges. It is being reported that the new judges will be the names that have been floating around for months: Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.
Ryan Seacrest officially announced the new American Idol judges.
The new American Idol judges, Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler, will replace Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, and Kara DioGuardi.
It seems that the show has been experienced a few makeovers over the last few seasons. Ellen DeGeneres was the replacement for Paula Abdul. Jennifer Lopez is now the American Idol judge replacement for Ellen DeGeneres.
Many are skeptical as to why it took so long to announce the new American Idol judges. Many believe that the show was actually struggling to lock in famous names. Both Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler were difficult to ink to a contract.
Given that ratings have been slipping for what was once one of the hottest television shows on FOX, there is a lot of pressure on this season to exceed expectations.
The show debuted on June 11, 20002. Simon Fuller came up with the idea, and it was originally a spin off of Pop Idol.
The season premiere of American Idol will be January 12, 2011 on FOX. Aside from the new American Idol judges, candidates will be able to submit 40-second videos through MySpace, which will definitely make the show more interesting.
