Wikileak Informant, Bradley Manning
22 yr old Bradley Manning, was an Army Private, and an Intelligence Officer in the Middle East. Manning has already been charged with the leak of a video, and is currently held at a United States Marine Corps base near Quantico, Virginia. He is under intense scrutiny and the center of an investigation over a massive intelligence leak which involved tens of thousands of classified materials.
The United States Government is taking this quite seriously, and alleges that had the incident occurred closer to the States that the breach would have been noticed far more immediately. Wikileaks has published thousands of documents from the Middle East, many involving informants within countries such as Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The Unites States Government is very concerned over the possibility that these Wikileaks have caused the death of innocent people, possibly the murder of entire Afghani families suspected of being an informant. When asked if they were speaking with Wikileak’s founder, Julian Assange, Admiral Mike Mullen, US Joint Chief of Staff stated that Mr. Assange would likely lie to cover his sources. Assange has offered to allow the United States Government the opportunity to review the leaked material prior to publication on Wikileaks, to insure confidential informants are protected. At this time, they government has not responded.
